UMBRA Technologies, Ltd, CANDIS Group and K5 Technology Group signed a channel partner and 3rd party cooperation agreement. The China affiliates of CANDIS Group and K5 Tech will work together to sell the UMBRA SNO service in Shanghai and Guangzhou China. UMBRA will provide level 1 support to K5 Tech clients in Shanghai and other areas as necessary. This agreement is effective immediately.

HONG KONG, HONG KONG, November 30, 2014 — UMBRA Technologies, Ltd., an emerging provider of second generation SD-WAN solutions, announced the signing of a channel partner and third-party agreement with CANDIS Group and K5 Technology Group. As part of the agreement, UMBRA will provide K5 Technology Group the UMBRA Secure Network Optimization (SNO) service for sale to K5 Technology client base as well as support for the K5 client base. Additionally, the Chinese affiliates of CANDIS Group (CANDIS Group) and K5 Technology will cooperate to sell the UMBRA Secure Network Optimization (SNO) Service in Shanghai China and Guangzhou China.

This agreement allows both CANDIS and K5 clients to access a subscription-based, SD-WAN service within more Chinese markets, for high-value, mission-critical application accessibility through the hybrid or public clouds distributed throughout the region. The UMBRA SNO Service’s subscription pricing model also allows clients to access a secure WAN optimization solution in a consumable price point that fit the needs of branch offices and datacenters, and decrease IT costs associated with acquiring and designing internal solutions for WAN optimization and network management.

UMBRA’s SNO Service uses a 2nd generation SD-WAN that leverages the UMBRA Global Virtual Network (GVN). The GVN is a virtual and physical network of endpoints, servers, and peering relationships, created using technologies including Dynamic DNS management to perform smart-routing of corporate network traffic, and minimize packet loss, latency and jitter. These embedded technologies also create a virtual network that uses multi-threaded data flow and multi-streaming tunnel generation necessary to ensure that mission critical applications are available to employees 24/7. The GVN also leverages the appropriate peering relationships with overseas carriers to ensure that network traffic is routed through low-cost as well as low-latency routes in an efficient manner.

“Clients using UMBRA’s SNO service need an easy-to-use, zero-touch-provisioning SD-WAN solution that installs in their IT environment in minutes, not days, and allows access to mission-critical hybrid and public cloud applications’, said Fred Broussard, Managing Director, UMBRA Technologies. “For CIOs and IT executives dealing with inflexible network management solutions in US or European datacenters, managing networks to branch offices in China puts employee productivity at risk with poor network connectivity to cloud and off-premises applications. Our SNO service can deliver and manage hybrid and public cloud application access in a secure manner. And with our subscription pricing model, UMBRA allows pay-as-you-use delivery of the service in a cost-effective manner that reduces capex.”

“K5 is happy to be able to provide our clients with a subscription SD-WAN service that delivers value to clients quickly”, said Alban Taraire, Managing Director, K5 Technology Group. “Our clients and partners were the first to hear about the SNO service, and were requesting that we provide them with it. We’re happy to work with UMBRA and CANDIS to do so. Our clients have a number of cloud based applications for which they’ve needed reliable access to enable employees to leverage cloud based applications.”

“We’re very pleased to have the opportunity to work with K5 Technology offer the UMBRA SNO Service, which will help both CANDIS and K5 clients address an urgent need,” said Jorn Knutsen, Managing Director, CANDIS Group. “Both our client bases can now enjoy the benefits of the UMBRA SNO service that CANDIS clients have had access to for the past 2 years.”
