UMBRA Technologies Limited (“UMBRA”) have received notification that its “Network Slinghop Via Tapestry Slingshot” Omnibus Patent Application cluster has officially granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO). “This is another milestone achievement for UMBRA in addition to our Global Virtual Network Omnibus Applications granting late last year”, says Jorn Knutsen, Co-Founder and CEO of UMBRA Technologies.

These Network Slinghop Omnibus patent clusters teach virtualization as a promising way to overcome the current ossification of the Internet by allowing heterogenous virtual networks (VNs) to coexist on a shared infrastructure and also enables support and deployment of new services and applications that current Internet architecture is unable to support. Virtual Network Embedding addresses efficient mapping of virtual network elements onto a physical infrastructure and is one of the main challenges in network virtualization.
